Electromagnetic actuator for gas changeover valve with integrated valve play compensation for internal combustion engine

The actuator has electromagnets (1,2) with an armature (5) moving reciprocally between their pole surfaces and connected to a thrust rod (6) mounted in guides and supported at its free ends by restoring springs (8,13). One end acts on the gas changeover valve. One guide is a cylinder with the associated free end in the form of the thrust rod piston and an associated control piston with an intermediate volume (20). A valve arrangement connects the volume to a compressed oil supply.
