<p>The connector assembly provides leak protection to enable the disconnection of a filled or partially filled ink cartridge from an ink-jet printer without leaking ink. The connector assembly includes a valve assembly (22) having a fitment (23) and a valve (40) attached thereto. The valve is movable to close a passageway (28) formed through the fitment (23) when the ink cartridge is disconnected from a coupler (26) connected to the printer.
