PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing the subject aqueous dispersion capable of giving, which the need of any classification, favorably fluid resin powder having such average particle size and particle size distribution as to be suitable for adhesives for interlinings and slash molding use. SOLUTION: This aqueous dispersion is obtained by dispersing either (A) a thermoplastic polyurethane resin or the resin A plus (B) a blocked polyisocyanate. The resin A is produced by reaction between (A1) an isocyanate group-terminated urethane prepolymer dispersed in water containing (C) a dispersant and (A2) a ketimine compound; wherein the dispersant C to be used is CI described below and the component B is incorporated at any stage as necessary. (C1): a dispersant having in the molecule a portion of a compound c1 with the solubility parameter (SP number) difference relative to the component A1 being <=0.5, having affinity for the component A1 and another portion of a hydrophilic compound c2 with a HLB number of >=10.
