<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a joint work at an elevated place, and furthermore, prevent a cover from falling off easily, even if the cover is repeatedly attached and detached. SOLUTION: This wire junction box 1 has an opening surface 10 to which a cover 2 is attached detachably. Through holes 11 and 12 are formed in the box unit 1, and wires are introduced into the box unit 1 through the through holes to be connected or branched in the box unit 1. A retaining hole 15 is formed in the side surface of the box unit 1, and furthermore, a screw hole 16 is formed in the side surface of the box unit 1 facing the side surface with the retaining hole 15. A retainer 22 which is retained with the retaining hole of the box unit and a screwing part 23, which is aligned with the screw hole of the box unit and into which the leg of a screw screwed to fit to the screw hole can be put through its side, are provided on the cover 2.
