PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to execute the input of a character and the specifi cation of its position only by one keyboard, to make it unnecessary for a user to properly use an input device correspondingly to an input target and to improve the usability of the input device. SOLUTION: An input device 100 to which the input method is applied is provided with a storage means 5 for storing correspondence relation between small areas obtained by dividing a display screen correspondingly to the arrangement of keys on a keyboard and these keys and a storage means 7 for storing correspondence relation between moving directions on the display screen based on the arrangement of the keys on the keyboard and the keys. In this case, the coordinate position or moving direction of a small area on the display screen corresponding to the arrangement position of a depressed key is inputted based on the correspondence relation stored in the storage means 7.
