PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system for an information processor which enables danger prevention against password's being decoded when only a portable information appliance is lost by connecting a storage device which records an enciphered password as an authentication key only at the time of use without storing authentication information on the information processor. SOLUTION: A storage device such as an IC card connectable to a portable information appliance 10 stores authentication information for authenticating a user of the portable information appliance 10 and its related information. The portable information appliance 10 does not store the authentication information. When a user uses the portable information appliance 10, the storage device is connected to the portable information appliance 10, a password a user inputs is compared with the authentication information of the connected storage device and authentication of the user is performed. |
