Electromagnetic spring pressure brake

An electromagnetic spring pressure brake has an annular coil carrier (2) with an annular coil (4) on it, the coil and coil carrier being located concentrically to the axis of the brake. There is also a concentrically located axially sliding armature disc (8) for the electromagnetically induced positioning on the coil carrier. There are a number of pressure springs (10) distributed peripherally in the coil carrier which press the armature disc away from the coil carrier in the direction of the axis with the coil unexcited. The axially sliding armature disc is connected to a friction coating designed as a brake shoe for the use of the spring pressure brake as a shoe brake engaging at the periphery, at one of the end faces or the inside of the periphery of a rotating element.
