PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress temperature rising inside of an optical box by the smaller quantity of air at an original reader having a halogen lamp as a light source by using the cooling fan attached in a direction where the air blows from the outside of the optical box to the inside of it and eliminating a hole on the side face of the lens of the optical box on the side of an original top end in an optical axis direction. SOLUTION: An axial flow type cooling fan 45 is attached on the rear face side of the optical box 101 in the direction where the air blows from the outside of the optical box 101 to the inside of it. Then, the left half of the optical box 101 on a drawing, namely an original top end side does not have a large hole to discharge the air except a small hole for attaching a part besides a hole positioned on the opposed surface of the cooling fan 45 and to exhaust the air. Also, the left side surface of the optical box 101 is not provided with the hole to be an air duct at all. Thus, the air taken in from the cooling fan 45 is flown straight through the inside of the optical box 101 to the hole on the opposed surface (arrow C), so that the original platen glass of an image top end having the largest temperature rising is efficiently cooled. |
