PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral device for a personal computer that provides a set top box function to receive a television signal. SOLUTION: Communication between a television receiver 22 and a personal computer PC 20 for a television signal and a control signal is conducted through an existing cable wiring installed already in a subscriber's building. In place of above, wireless communication is conducted between the television receiver 22 and the PC 20. Thus, the need for the set top and the cost relating thereto is eliminated. The operator of the television receiver 22 in existence under a multi-task environment of the PC 20, resulting that the PC 20 is used simultaneously for other application programs. |
