PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture processing method and its device by which noise existing in an original picture is not amplified even at the time of executing an automatic dodging processing together with a picture processing such as hierarchy conversion, color correction or a sharpness emphasizing processing, which is frequently used in the original picture which is read from an input device such as a scanner. SOLUTION: When a picture processing signal for reproducing a digital original picture signal which expresses a color original picture as the visible picture is obtained, a filtering processing by an edge preservation smoothing filter is executed for the digital original picture signal, an out-of-focus picture signal expressing the out-of-focus picture of the original picture is generated, a prescribed picture processing is executed in the signal, a processed out-of-focus picture signal is generated, a difference signal between the processed out-of-focus picture signal and the out-of-focus picture signal is generated, the difference signal is added to the original picture signal and the picture processing signal is generated. |
