PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide resin which has high mechanical properties, heat stability, moldability and dimensional stability, allows little decrease in rigidity after used for a long time under a high-humidity atmosphere and is suitable especially for an automobile hamess connector having a thin part, and a resin composition. SOLUTION: A polyamide resin for automobile connectors comprises (a) 75 to 50 mol.% hexamethylene terephthalmide unit, (b) 5 to 45 mol.% at least one structural unit chosen from an undecanamide unit and a dodecanlamide unit and (c) 5 to 45 mol.% at least one structural unit chosen hexamethylene adipamide and hexamethylene isophthalamide and has a melting point within the range of 300 to 325 deg.C and viscoelastic properties wherein the glass transition temperature at saturated water absorption, obtained from viscoelasticity measurement, is 40 deg.C or higher and at least one of the observed multiple peaks of the loss elastic modulus is positioned at 80 deg.C or higher. |
