PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy with min. consumption of ozone by rising a container which stores a photocatalyst soln. inside, introducing an org. compd. or inorg. compd. and ozone into the photocatalyst soln., and exciting the photocatalyst and ozone in the photocatalyst soln. by irradiation from a light source so as to increase the photocatalytic activity. SOLUTION: A UV lamp 3 is disposed at a specified position of a treating container 1, and a photocatalyst soln. C is stored in the bottom. Bubbling plates 2a, 2b having holes in a specified shape formed on the surfaces are disposed as immersed in the photocatalyst soln. C. When ozone A and an odorous gas B are blown as bubbles through the bubbling plates 2a, 2b into the photocatalyst soln. C, the photocatalyst and the ozone A are excited by light from the UV lamp 3 to enhance the contact efficiency between the odorous gas B component dissolved in the photocatalyst soln. C and the activated photocatalyst and to efficiently decompose the gas. At the same time, OH radicals or the like are produced by the ozone A to decompose the odorous gas B component which are hardly decomposed by the photocatalyst. Thus, the decomposition efficiency in total can be improved. |
