<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a golfer to sufficiently utilize the supple characteristic of a shaft by forming a recessed part not adhered to the outer peripheral surface of the shaft in the crown part of a head and specifying the bending rigidity of the front and of the shaft to a specific value. SOLUTION: The recessed part 10 to which the shaft to be inserted is unadhered and an adhesive hole 12 below this part are formed in the crown part 1a of the head 1. The adhesive hole 12 is formed to approximately the same diameter as the shaft diameter and the recessed part 10 is formed to the diameter larger than the shaft diameter. As a result, the shaft can be supple in the position of the recessed part 10. Further, the bending rigidity of the portion existing in the recessed part 10 at the front end of the shaft 5 is specified to <=5.0×10<6> kgf/mm<2> , more preferably about 3.5×10<6> kgf/mm<2> . This bending rigidity region is preferably set within a range of about 50 mm to the base end side from the adhesive region to the adhesive hole 12. The depth of the recessed part 10 is specified to 5 to 25 mm, more preferably about 10 to 25 mm. As a result, the shaft is made suppler and the effective utilization of the supple characteristic is possible.</p> |
