The restraining assembly for a boot (3) on a snowboard (4) comprises a base (1), a restraining device and a rear support (2). The restraining device, connected to the base, comprises a restraining part which engages a boot fastening. There are translation guides (11,16) for the rear support part relative to and parallel to the base. A spring permanently presses the rear support part in the direction of the base central zone. A stop immobilises the rear support relative to the base under the action of the boot when the boot is held on the base by the restraining part. The assembly eliminates any obstruction to the boot and any play between the boot and its rear support.
