The invention concerns a polypeptide with immunoreactivity towards antibodies directed against the TrkA protein and consisting of any one of the following polypeptides: the polypeptide starting at amino acid 71 and terminating at amino acid 87 of the TrkA protein sequence identified by SEQ ID NO: 1, or in abbreviated form polypeptide 71-87; polypeptide 125-141; polypeptide 265-283; polypeptide 379-392; polypeptide 382-417; and equivalent polypeptides having immunoreactivity towards said antibodies, identical or similar to above polypeptides; preferably, the polypeptides are selected among SEQ ID NO: 2 to SEQ ID NO: 8. The invention also concerns their uses in particular for diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases.
