Measuring profile of roll in inline mode on sheet rolling mill, e.g. hot rolling mill

Measuring a roll profile involves using two displacement detectors (3h, 3i) arranged at a center distance Lc on an axially reciprocating mount (12f) to measure irregularities over the total length of the work roll. Measured values calculated from differences between values obtained by the detectors are processed as a data stream to determine the axial surface irregularities of the work roll.
