The method involves detecting the operating force exerted on the tool (1) or its articulated arm (2) using a laser diode based measuring device (8) when the tool is guided by hand. The sections (3) of the arm are pivoted based on the detected operating force, the detected position of the tool, and a predetermined movement range, such that the tool moves in the direction of the operating force. An apparatus for guiding a tool is also claimed. |
