PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration in the heat exchanging efficiency of an air conditioner and the increase of the power consumption of the conditioner by fixing the air volume of a supply fan by controlling the number of revolutions of a fan motor when it is not possible to secure a sufficient distance between an outdoor machine and an obstacle, such as the wall, etc. SOLUTION: In a fan motor controller which controls an air conditioner provided with a supply fan driven by means of a fan motor 2 and an outdoor heat exchanger and is composed of a number-of-revolution detecting circuit section 4 which detects the number of revolutions of the motor 2 and a fan motor control section 5 which controls the number of revolutions of the motor 2, a comparator circuit section 6 which compares the number of revolutions and power consumption of to motor 2 with each other and an air volume control means 7 which estimates the air volume of the supply fan by comparing the power consumption of the motor 2 with the power consumption of the motor 2 when the motor 2 is driven with a reference number of revolutions are provided. The controller controls the number of revolutions of the motor 2 in such a way that the number is increased to a prescribed number when the air volume detected by means of the control means 7 is a set lower limit value or lower and decreased to the reference number when the air volume becomes a set upper limit value or larger. |
