The container (1) is four-sided and of aluminium with rounded corners (2). All around it are outwardly extending edges (3). Over two opposing edges a lid (4) can be pushed in a specific direction (arrow). The lid is made of a flat cardboard plate, which on one side is provided with a layer of plastic. The plate is cut or stamped to shape and has an upper surface and edge pieces, for which folding seams are provided. When the container with contents is cooked, it is closed with an aluminium sheet or an aluminium lid, the lid (4) of cardboard being pushed over the alumnium lid or is supplied separately.
