PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte never reducing ion conductivity, having a high elastic modulus, and free from composition change of electrolytic solution by using a polymerization initiator having a half life within 2 hours at a temperature not more than the lowest boiling point of the boiling points of solvents constituting a polymer gel electrolyte for the manufacture of the polymer gel electrode. SOLUTION: This ion conductive polymer gel electrode preferably consists of a cyclic carbonate, or the cyclic carbonate and a chain carbonate, the thermal polymerization initiator consists of an organic peroxide (benzoyl peroxide, azobisisobutyronitrle or the like), and the thermal polymerization initiator is set to 0.005-5 wt.% to the polymeric monomer or the polymer matrix after polymerization. The polymer matrix constituting the polymer gel electrode is preferably obtained by polymerizing a monofunctional acrylate monomer or its denatured product with a multifunctional monomer or its denatured product, and it suitably consists of a polymer of an acrylate monomer denatured by an alkylene oxide. |
