PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a same program to be distributed to pluralities of set top boxes by using a single communication path between a distribution control section and an information distribution section in the information distributor of a cable television CATV system and to prevent increase in traffic and a delay in distribution of the program. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of a request of distribution of same information from pluralities of set top boxes, a path identification number decision means 21 decides an identification number of a signal communication path corresponding to pluralities of the set top boxes. A distribution information transmission means 22 sends the information whose distribution is requested to an information distribution section 30 via the communication path with the decided identification number. A set top box specification means 31 of the information distribution section 30 specifies each set top box to which the distribution information is to be distributed based on the identification number of the communication path used by the distribution information transmission means 22 for the transmission. A distribution information distribution means 32 distributes the distribution information to each specified set top box respectively. |
