PURPOSE: A DAD(Duplicate Address Detection) performing method using information managed by an access router to carry out a fast handoff under IPv6 environment is provided to carry out a DAD by complementing a neighbor node request message, and to quickly decide whether the same IP address exists by using a node cache list, then to perform communication by using a target address if the same IP address does not exist, thereby reducing a DAD performance time. CONSTITUTION: A mobile node multicasts a neighbor node request message(S410). An access router receives the neighbor node request message, and retrieves IP addresses of each node by extracting a target address(S420), then decides whether the same IP address as the target address exists(S430). If not, the access router writes a neighbor node advertising message, and transmits the written advertising message to the mobile node(S440). The mobile node carries out a binding update process in a home agent, sets the target address to "momentary" state, and processes the advertising message and a transmitted packet(S480).
