PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small-sized optical pickup head which eliminates the need to adjust the optical axes of a solid immersion lens and of an objective, and enables high-density recording and reproduction. SOLUTION: An optical pickup head 1 is formed as an integral part by stacking a surface light emission semiconductor laser 2 and a photodetecting element 3 in order on an optical element 4 molded integrally so that the optical axes of an objective 4b and a solid immersed lens 4c are aligned with each other. Further, light which is emitted vertically by the surface light emission semiconductor laser 2 and converged by the objective 4b is made by the solid immersion lens 4c with a high refractive index into a fine spot, which irradiates an optical information recording medium D. Consequently, the need to adjust the optical axes of the objective 4b and of the solid immersion lens 4c is eliminated and high-density recording and reproduction become possible. |
