PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the peak position of a signal having a DC component by generating a threshold for detecting the DC component and comparing a signal corresponding to the position of data stored in a medium with the threshold. SOLUTION: A positive peak detection signal 330 and a negativ peak detection signal 332 are averaged by a voltage divider 304 consisting of one pair of resistors 341, 342. The output signal of the voltage divider 304 is used as threshold signal 334 and roughly expresses the intermediate point between peaks of a processed signal 332. The output signal of the divider 304 is supplied to a comparator 306, which compares the divided voltage with the preliminarily processed signal 332. The output data 362 are supplied to a positive peak detector 300 and a negativ peak detector 302, and the divider 306 detects a DC envelope. Then, the output of the comparator 306 is supplied to a dual edge circuit 308, which generates a unipolar pulse having a prescribed duration time every time the status of the comparator 306 is changed. |
