PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide type optical element having high light transmittance. SOLUTION: In this waveguide type optical element, the optical axis of an optical waveguide 3 in the light incident side and the optical axis of an optical waveguide 5 in the light transmitted side are mutually shifted corresponding to the refractive index of a multilayered dielectric film filter 7 as to conform the light wave center transmitted by the multilayered dielectric film filter 7 to the position of the optical axis of the optical waveguide 5. The shifting degree can be calculated based on the size, the materials, and characteristic properties of each part. Since the light rays transmitted through the multilayered dielectric film filter 7 enter the optical waveguide route 5 without any loss, this waveguide type optical element has excellent light transmissivity. |
