ATM COMMUNICATION NETWORK ITS INVERSE MULTIPLEX METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an efficient system that inversely multiplexes an asynchronous transfer mode ATM cell stream received from a communication link with a high-frequency bandwidth through plural links with a low-frequency bandwidth. SOLUTION: A cell stream is received through a drawing communication link 30 with a high-frequency bandwidth and an SAR module 310 in a 1st ATM switch 20 assembles the stream into each of related packets. A CPU 320 connecting to the SAR module adds control data (sequence number), recognizing a position of the packet to each packet, the SAR module divides the resulting packets into ATM cell streams, and each ATM cell relating to one packet is sent through the same low frequency bandwidth link. A 2nd ATM communication switch 50 assembles again each received ATM cell into a corresponding packet. Each packet is re-synchronized in the first order according to its sequence number, a SAR module 360 divides the packet into ATM cell streams and they are sent through a connected communication link with a high-frequency bandwidth.
