PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid image free of the occurrence of voids by adding additives to a matrix toner consisting essentially of a bonding resin and a colorant and specifying the liberation rate of Si atoms. SOLUTION: In the objective electrophotographic toner obtd. by adding additives to a matrix toner consisting essentially of a bonding resin and a colorant, the liberation rate of Si atoms is 0.5-20% and preferably the liberation rate of Ti atoms is also 0.5-20%. The liberation rates of both Si atoms and Ti atoms are preferably 0.5-10%, in particular 1.0-8%. The liberation rates can easily be calculated with a particle analyzer. Any additives may be used if the defined liberation rates are satisfied but silica and titania are preferably used. At least one of silica and titania is preferably surface-treated with an org. silane compd.
