PURPOSE:To lower combustion noise and at the same time stabilize combustion at the time of ignition by a method wherein the pressure rise in a combustion chamber is suppressed at the time of ignition by making the pressure in the combustion chamber ready to escape to an exhaust pipe. CONSTITUTION:When sparks are flown across electrodes 9 and a fuel pressurizing pump 5 is put into operation at the time of ignition operation, the pressure applied to an atomizing nozzle 6 is raised sharply up to the set pressure of a pressure detector 7 and normally the ignition occurs before said pressure reaches the set pressure. The electric signal obtained by the pressure detector 7 opens the solenoid valve 11 to communicate to a pressure damper 8, resulting in gradually raising the pressure in a piping led to the atomizing nozzle 6. Consequently, because the flow rate of the fuel supplied to the combustion chamber 1 is also gradually increased, the amount of combustion gas is also gradually increased, resulting in eliminating the abrupt pressure rise in the combustion chamber 1 and the generation of abnormal ignition noise. |
