The system includes an unit which has two rotatable half shells (1,2) that are mechanically coupled by a number of latch elements (3). Cylindrical elements (4) that have patterned and coloured symbols project radially. The half shells are turned relative to each other to produce a specific output. The internal space is used to house the electronics and the unit may be programmed to generate a specific optical or acoustic output.
