The method involves providing a program which runs on first computer and on at least one second computer which are connected over a network. An input for the program which runs on the first computer, is performed. A predetermined action is performed in response to the input, whereby an output associated with the action is presented on the at least one second computer in case of an application-serving mode, or is presented both on the first computer and the at least one second in case of an application-sharing mode. The input may be a keyboard, a mouse, an audio data, and/or a video data entry, and the output may be a graphic, audio, and/or video data output. The network is preferably platform-independent.
