A mixer tap for use in especially sanitary applications such as showers has a housing with inlets and outlets for cold, hot and mixed hot and cold water. The housing incorporates a fixed valve seat disc faced by hand- operated valve. The valve seat disc has apertures for water. Apertures in the hand-operated valve may be aligned as required with those in the valve seat. The mixer tap is opened from the closed position by rotation by rotation to the left.
