A method of manufacturing a sheet metal product having a groove in an inner circumferential end surface thereof, capable of forming a groove in an inner circumferential end surface of a sheet metal work without using a cutting process; rendering it unnecessary to remove chips filled in such a groove; eliminating the possibility that the chips deteriorate the working environment; and improving the smoothness of a bottom and side surfaces of such a groove. The gist of this method resides in that a groove is formed in an inner circumferential end surface of an opening-carrying sheet metal product by moving an inner grooving mold, which is provided in the opening, in the diametrically outward direction of the work and thereby pressing a groove molding surface of the inner mold against the inner circumferential end surface, i.e. the circumferential surface of the opening as the work is turned in a predetermined position around the axis of the opening. According to this method, a groove can be provided in an inner circumferential end surface of a sheet metal product without using a cutting process.
|
