<p>A utility pole (10) comprises an inner structure (12) disposed within an envelop (14) formed of a different material than that of the inner structure (12), thereby enabling the combination of the qualities inherent to both materials in a single utility pole (10). The utility pole (10) may be of a modular construction for allowing equipment and accessories to be integrated to the utility pole (10). For instance, a transformer (210) may be added between adjacent sections of the inner structure (12) of the utility pole (10). A distribution system may be provided in the base of the utility pole (10) for allowing some utility lines to be concealed within the utility pole (10) and the soil.</p> |
