PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a propargyl alcohol derivative useful as an important intermediate for medicines, agrochemicals, etc., by reacting a trichlorofluorinated methane with a carbonyl compound and further reacting the resultant product with the carbonyl compound. SOLUTION: (A) Trichlorofluorinated methane (CFCl3 , hereinafter referred to as CFC-11) is reacted with (C) a carbonyl compound (preferably an aldehyde derivative) in the presence of (B) a phosphine (preferably tributylphosphine, etc.), to provide (D) a fluorinated vinyl derivative, which is then reacted with the component C in the presence of (E) a base (preferably an alkali metal compound) to thereby afford a propargyl alcohol derivative. The component D is preferably reacted with the component C in the presence of the component E in an amount of >=2 equiv. Thereby, CFCl3 recovered from a refrigerator, a cooler, etc., and expected to be disposed is readily detoxicated to afford the propargyl alcohol derivative which is an important intermediate for medicines, agrochemicals, various functional materials, etc.
|
