PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a phenol resin-based foam capable of reducing the amount of released formaldehyde and ammonia at the time of molding without deteriorating the moldability and flame retardance and useful as automotive interior trims, etc., by heat-treating a resin composition comprising a novolak type phenol resin, an epoxy resin and a specific foaming agent. SOLUTION: A resin composition containing (A) a novolak type phenol resin, (B) an epoxy resin (e.g. an o-cresol novolak type epoxy resin) and (C) one or more kinds of foaming agents of dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine, p,p'- oxybisbenzenesulfonylhydrazone, hydrazodicarbonamide, p- toluenesufonylhydrazide and azodicarbonamide in (85/15) to (20/80) weight ratio of the components A/B is heat-treated by a molding press, etc., preferably at a temp. of 140-240 deg.C. The amount of the component C is 1-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the total amount of the resins in the components A and B. |
