PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid lubricant having a reactivity at a friction interface, capable of manifesting excellent lubrication activities at a high temperature for a long time, capable of preventing generation of seizing, and useful at a sliding part or the like exposed to a combustion gas by including a carbon powder and a specific metal powder. SOLUTION: This solid lubricant comprises (A) a carbon powder (e.g. a carbon black, a graphite) and (B) a group VIa, VIIa or VIIIa metal powder in the periodic table. Preferably, the lubricant contains 0.05-5 wt.% component B, and especially in the case of using nickel as the component B, contains 0.05-2 wt.% component B. When the lubricant is used at a sliding part, the component A is graphitized by a frictional heat, a tribochemical reaction and a catalytic action, and even when the component A is the graphite, the reorganization of the graphite layer is caused to prevent heightening of the friction coefficient caused in the time of sliding only with the simple graphite. As a result, excellent lubrication activities are manifested for a long period even at a high temperature. |
