PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device having an optical fiber sending means, for selective treatment of the boundary between an endocardium and a myocardium. SOLUTION: A method for treating a myocardium by use of one mechanical or electromagnetic energy working device 106 which promotes blood circulation into a treatment zone by forming a network of interconnected passages branching off into the boundary between an endocardium and the myocardium is provided, and a device 100 for selectively treating ischemic myocardial tissue is provided having a center pipe 102 having a proximal end 108 and a distal end 110 and having at least one hollow lumen part while defining an axis, at least two mechanical or electromagnetic energy working devices 106 provided inside the pipe 102 and each having a distal end 120 located adjacent to the distal end 110 of the center pipe, and a deflecting member 116 for deflecting the distal end of each of the at least two mechanical or electromagnetic energy working devices from the axis in order to permit selective treatment of ischemic or hibernating myocardial tissue. |
