PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface treating agent capable of ensuring sufficient adhesion to a coating film and to provide a method for coating using the surface treating agent. SOLUTION: This method for coating includes a step for applying a surface treating agent containing 5-15% phosphorus-based converting agent onto the surface of a fluororubber after primary vulcanization, a step for dispersing a solvent in the surface treating agent, a step for heating the fluororubber having the surface treating agent formed thereon, forming a surface treated layer and secondarily vulcanizing the fluororubber and a step for coating the top surface of the surface treated layer with a fluororesin. The formation of a hard, plastic and resinous layer adhering to the surface of the fluororubber can be formed by treating the surface thereof with the phosphorus-based compound having a phosphorus-based compound moiety in the end group. The method has advantages in that the coating film good in adhesion can be formed by coating the surface treated layer with the fluororesin. |
