PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an image receiving sheet which has an image printed and is free from the generation of a curl when recording the image by thermal transfer. SOLUTION: An image is previously printed on the back face of a core layer 4 (when the core layer 4 is composed of a core base material layer and a back face side film layer, the back face of the back face side film layer) and/or the front face of a front face film layer 3 to form a printed image 5. A step to form a support 1a consisting of the core layer 4 and the front face film layer 3 by lamination and a step to form a dye staining image receiving layer 2 on the front face film layer 3, are performed in optional order to manufacture the thermally transferable image receiving sheet 1.
