PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the new subject protein comprising a polypeptide or protein having a specific amino acid sequence, capable of being bound to oxytocin in a birth pang inducer and useful for e.g. estimation of parturient timing, prevention of intolerable birth pang and determination of timing for birth pang induction. SOLUTION: This polypeptide or protein having part of the amino acid sequence of the formula is a new protein allowed to be bound to oxytocin and provided with the possibilities of e.g. estimation for timing of birth pang, birth pang prevention for patients of imminent premature delivery, prevention of intolerable birth pang or determination of timing for birth pang induction. The protein is obtained by extracting the whole RNA of a human uterus muscle, separating mRNA in oligo dT cellulose column, conventionally producing a cDNA library by using it, screening the library in oxytocin receptor activity, transducing the obtained gene into a host cell by inserting it into a vector for obtaining a transformant and next cultivating it. |
