PROCESS DETECTING CORROSION DEFECTS IN WATER SUPPLY PIPE- LINES

FIELD: inspection of condition of pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: simplification of process of location of defect and determination of its character as well as independence of process of detection from properties of material of tested environment are achieved by installation of pairs of acoustic transducers on ends of inspected section of pipe-line. One transducer in each pair registers longitudinal vibration and the other one - lateral vibrations. Location and character of detected defect are determined after processing of signals from acoustic transducers.
