The return device (10) includes a body having a front face with means adapted to engage complementary means integral with the doorknob hole. The body has a longitudinal slot (17) which houses a spring (18), the ends having two branches (15,16) forming a fork. The width (L) of the slot is greater than the distance (1) separating the fork branches. The slot includes a portion (17a) emerging on the body rear face allowing passage of the spring.
