FIELD: non-destructive testing of physical, mechanical and operational properties of articles with coats. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading of tested article with indenter, registration of parameters of signals of acoustic emission, namely, energy of pulses of acoustic emission and duration of pulse, evaluation of quality of adhesion of coat to base. Criterion of separation of pulses K<SB>p</SB>= lg(E<SB>c</SB>/tau<SP>2</SP>), is used as means testing properties of articles, where Ec is energy of pulses, tau - is duration of pulses.
