ADSORPTION MEANS FOR RADIONUCLIDES

The invention relates to adsorption means for radionuclides based on a fine fibrous material containing chitin. The material is obtained from fungi (higher Basidiomycetes) which occur naturally or which are grown in a culture, and insoluble ferrocyanides of the transition metals, especially copper ferrocyanide. The adsorption means are especially well-suited for cleaning liquid radioactive wastes produced in the atomic industry and by nuclear power stations.
