A method for coupling the clip of a surface light source device and the surface light source device manufactured using the same are provided to increase compatibility between an electrode and a coupling material to improve coupling intensity, thereby minimizing risk that the clip is separated from a light source body, or a contact error occurs between the electrode and the clip. A method for coupling the clip of a surface light source device comprises the following steps of: coating electrode paste on the light source body of the surface light source device; contacting a clip on the electrode paste by interposing a coupling paste; and drying the electrode paste and the coupling paste. The coupling paste has the same material as the electrode paste.
