An atmospheric plasma (13) is applied to the entire surface of the film or in a prescribed pattern over the film and shortly afterwards both films (1,2) are passed through a nip (6) between two rolls (8,9). Independent claims are included for: (a) the process plant which includes a plasma nozzle arrangement (20) prior to the roll gap (6) for treating the films (1,2) over the entire width; and (b) a multilayer film strip (10) made by the process.
