The control method determines the duration of the injection phase as a sum of a first duration dependent on the electrical supply potential at the injectors and fuel pressure at the injector inputs. A second duration is derived equal to the product of a corrective coefficient and flow of air drawn in by the engine. The corrective coefficient is dependent upon the fuel pressure at the injector inputs.
