<p>A reflective display comprises a panel (0), a light guide plate (20), and a light source (0). The panel (0) is provided with a transparent first substrate (1) located on the incident side of the outside light, a second substrate (2) bonded to the first substrate (1) with interposition of a prescribed space and located on the side opposite to the first substrate (1), a liquid crystal layer (3) held in the space between both substrates, and an electrode (10) for applying a voltage to the liquid crystal layer (3). The light guide plate (20) which is placed on the outside of the first substrate (1), allows the outside light to be transmitted, guides the illumination light from the light source, and allows the outside light and the illumination light reflected on the second substrate (2) to come out. A laminate structure comprising a polarization plate (70) and a quarter wavelength plate (80) placed on one another is attached on the light guide plate (20), and shuts off the outside light or illumination light unnecessary reflected on the first substrate (1) of the panel (0). <IMAGE></p> |
