PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant resin compsn. which is excellent in impact strength, light resistance, moldability, thermal stability, and metal corrosion prevention by compounding an ABS resin contg. a specified amt. of a rubber component with a spsecific flame retardant, an auxiliary flame retardant, and a fatty acid ester, each in a spcified amt. SOLUTION: This compsn. comprises 100 pts.wt. ABS resin contg. 8-50 wt.%, pref. 10-30 wt.%, rubber component, 3-30 pts.wt. flame retardant of formula I, 0-10 pts.wt. auxiliary flame retardant (e.g. antimony trioxide), and 0.2-5 pts.wt. fatty acid ester, pref. a fatty acid glycerin ester (e.g. stearic acid monoglyceride). In the formula, X is halogen; i and j are each 1-4; n is 0-18; R is a group of formula II or III; and R1 is OH or 1-3C alkoxy provided at least 30% of epoxy groups are blocked by R1 . The compsn. has such moldability and heat resistance that large moldings (e.g. a copying machine) can be satisfactorily produced therefrom. |
