PURPOSE:To eliminate necessity of aligning at once sheets to a plurality of pins, to effectively align the sheets by a small-sized motor having a small torque and a low cost, and to then perform a stapling operation by providing control means for operating sheet aligning means for the sheets even after the sheets are bound by staple means. CONSTITUTION:The pressing elastic member 502a of a pressing member 502 is brought into contact with one side end face of a sheet bundle by oscillating, and the end face of the opposite side of the bundle is pressed to a fence 316 side. As a result, the position of one side end face of the bundle is aligned, the other side end face having a perpendicular relation to the one side end face of the bundle is so pressed toward a direction of an arrow A as to be brought into contact with a pin rising part 308 by the oscillating force of the member 502, and the other side end face of the bundle is aligned. In this case, since the oscillation is performed by normal and reverse rotations of an oscillating motor 520, even if the sheets are not pressed by the normal rotation, they can be easily returned to home positions by the reverse rotation. The sheets discharged on a bin 300 can be desirably aligned to the end by the above operation. |
